A Field Trip Day

Yesterday was a busy day! We went on a day trip just about 40 minutes from our house. We started out at Montezuma's castle. It was amazing to see how the sinagua people lived so long ago. There are no written records of these people at all just artifacts that we use to tell their story. After that we drove about 10 miles to Montezuma's well and had our lunch at the top. It is beautiful there and there are even pueblos on the cliffside there as well. The kids had a great time hiking even though the temps were in the 90's. After we were done there we drove over to Tuzigoot. It is some more pueblos on top of a cliff that you can go in. There are 110 rooms and the kids had fun going to the top and being the lookout. So we got a lot of history learning in this day and a lot of fun too!

All of us in front of the well.

All of the kids got their junior ranger badge while we were there.

Here is a photo of some rooms at Tuzigoot.

Hiker Avery!

We also got to witness a rattlesnake tagging. This is a diamond back and we were so close we could hear it rattle!
